Plus, you'll get tons of great functionality that will keep you talking wherever you go. The main feature of the IHF1000 is a robust voice recognition system. Just touch the blue button in the center of the control unit and the car kit will listen to your commands and make calls for you. The system's brilliant sound quality with noise reduction and high output sound optimizes sound quality for both you and the people on the other end. The center button is surrounded by a blue indicator LED light that provides a visual cue about the wireless speaker status. Four other buttons, all of which sport a beautiful chrome finish, offer easy access to mute functions and volume control, as well as the voice recognition features. Use the voice recognition button to easily place calls using your phone's voice dialing function. All buttons on the main unit are also backlit for easy viewing in dark conditions, and with a receiving range of 30 feet, you can be assured that the unit will communicate with a Bluetooth phone that's anywhere in your vehicle. With the IHF1000, you're in total control of your in-car communications. Using the controls and voice commands, you can: - Pair up to four Bluetooth-enabled phones with the unit (only one may be used at a time)

And if your phone supports it, you can also use the IHF1000 to make voice-activated calls from your phone's contacts list, redial the last number, accept or reject incoming calls, transfer audio to hands-free, and toggle between multi-party calls. All this functionality gives you the freedom to seamlessly switch between your mobile phone and the IHF1000 unit. Multiple language support is built into the unit, too. The system supports voice recognition in English (US and UK), French (EU), Spanish, Italian and German, and there is no need to "train" the system in any of these languages. It recognizes them right out of the box. As for compatibility with handsets, Motorola states that any Bluetooth phone that supports the Hands-free Profile should work with the IHF1000, but you'll want to check with your phone manufacturer to make sure. I purchased this assuming it would be compatible with my car, unfortunately the audio system in my car does not support this type of unit, sound for the calls was not able to come through the audio system to keep I would of had to install the black speaker box somewhere in the car. We have a similar unit in another vechile and it works well through the audio system so it depends on your vechicle and the system it has. I will say the return process with Amazon and the seller was seamless, no issues at all. I learned the hard way, do your homework before you purchase one of these.

This model is much better than their earlier cheaper version. I've installed one in each of our two cars and bought this one for my daughter. Good price on amazon. Should be comfortable with basic automobile electrical systems for installation. I used the included speaker, which is easier than buying a harness and routing through the radio audio. Easy to use, voice commands.

I've had the Motorola IHF1000 now for almost a month and so far it's great. It's very easy to use, just a few simple buttons and the use of the voice commands and you're set. This product is also small so it fits great just about anywhere in your car.
Pros:
* Easy to use.
* Easy to hear others through the speakers in your car.
* Voice commands really works well.
* So far it appears that no one can tell that I'm using this device and those I have told say that they hear me well.
* For the most part this device really understands your voice commands. And the more you use it the better it goes.
* There is an option to turn off notifications like when it synchs with your phone, I'm just waiting until I get used to how long it takes to synch before I turn the notifications off. So far synch time varies from a few seconds to up to 20 seconds. But most of the time it's very fast.
* I really like the blue glow at night.
Cons:
* Sometimes when you do a number dial the system acts dyslexic. But once you learn that as you say the numbers you can simply say "no" to reject the last section of numbers.
* There are only 20 memory slots for numbers. When I first got this system I figured that was plenty but it turns out that Motorola really needs to add more slots. Sure there may be some numbers of people that you only call once in a while but it's nice to put them in there, especially because when they call you it will say their name and not the phone number they are dialing from.
And these are cons for any hands free kit you may want to consider:
* The volume is not controlled through the car radio, so you will have to use the buttons on the right to adjust the volume.
* If you have a factory installed navigation like mine then it will talk over your conversation if you are using both at the same time.
* If you are near your car and not in your car but your car is running then the Kit may be on and then if someone calls it will go through your car.

We had it installed by Best Buy. It was about $100 to install in my Saab convertible and they did an excellent job. This thing is great! Even with the convertible top down you can still hear the calls quite clearly and those to whom I am speaking can hardly tell, there is very little wind noise. Very easy to program and use. I give this product my highest recommendation!
